In a game of cricket played the other day at some ground somewhere in Oxford, Far From The Madding Crowd C.C. were not very good. Their opposition, Marlborough House, were somewhat better, and ended up winning the match by eight wickets.

N. Hebbes (37) for The Mad was good, M. Westmoreland (13) quite good, and G. Bridges (7) okay, but otherwise, the Mad players weren’t all that hot. Although, come to think of it, S. Dobner (2 n.o) was reasonably good too. D. Jones (1-26) was pretty good for some of his bowling, and M. Westmoreland (again) was very very good when he threw down the stumps from distance to affect a run-out which in the end proved academic.

Dan used to play for the Marlborough, but he didn’t get a ton.

For The Marlborough, Dan Edwards (4-19 and 43 n.o) had a very good game. Well done, Dan. Well. Done.
